Lake Technical College celebrates students who have recently attended the SkillsUSA Regional and State competitions. Lake Tech’s SkillsUSA chapter is made up of over 325 students and advisors. Eight students competed at the regional competition level in Kissimmee, Florida and were awarded one bronze, one silver and five gold medals. Fifteen students registered to advance to the state competition held in Jacksonville, Florida and six students proudly medaled (listed below). The students who received gold medals at the State competition will move on to the national competitions at the SkillsUSA National & Skills Conference June 19 – 23 in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to their competitions, the students met with industry professionals during the Career Fair, Trade Show, and Champion’s Night, which allowed them to demonstrate skills learned in the chapter, such as essential values, attitudes, knowledge, and competencies for success on the job.  Competitors also had the opportunity to participate in various workshops hosted by the state conference that specialized in students’ development of personal, workplace, and technical skills.
