Since 1979, members of Beta Theta-ESA have balanced their lives with Good Friends, Good Works, and Good Times; never losing sight of their mission to continue their “Never-Ending Story.”

During the summer sabbatical, members kept energized with monthly summer socials including Senior-Olympic competitions and a Hawaiian Luau.

A $1,000 Lake Sumter State scholarship was presented to Alstair Clarke, a graduating student from Lake Minneola High School, who will be attending Lake Sumter State College this fall.

Members and their companions met at the home of Toni Bell in early September to begin preparing for the Signature fundraiser: The 17th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration at the Clermont Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

“A planning meeting wouldn’t be complete without a celebration”, says Mardi Gras Chairmember Michelle Delaney. Pizza and chicken wings, as well as a birthday cake for Irv Stacy were part of the evening’s planning session (September 6). Lots of Beta Theta members and companions also celebrated birthdays this summer including Michele Barnard Pines, Michelle Delaney, Tim Murry, Matt Graham, Lou Ellen Combs, Diann Lovette, Joe Holt, and Kassier Murry.

The evening’s planning session was very productive and lots of surprises were planned.  “We’re hoping for the BEST-EVER EVENT, with the help of our sponsors, patrons and contributors”, says Beta Theta president Terry Moherek.

Further information to come soon. Donations, sponsorships, and contributions needed.
