The Teamont Cafe had its grand opening on Tuesday, September 5, on the Lake Sumter State College South Lake Campus at 1250 N. Hancock Rd., Clermont.  The cafe was filled with LSSC students; some were reading, some enjoying a boba tea with friends, and some had dropped by to find out what to expect at the Teamont Cafe.

The South Lake Chamber of Commerce attended the grand opening and members celebrated with a ribbon cutting.

Owner Juliana Green reminisces, “I’ve come around a complete circle”.  “The first time I came to the cafe, I could barely speak English. I remember standing in the doorway of the Dupee Cafe not knowing how to order something, Would they understand me?” Today, instead of not knowing how to order from the cafe, she is running one.   Juliana proudly notes, “I am an LSSC Alumna, and my daughter is a current LSSC student.

Only three years ago, Juliana defied the odds and opened Teamont Boba-Clermont in Downtown Clermont during the COVID pandemic. It turned into a very successful venture.  Less than a year ago, she opened her second specialty business in downtown Clermont, Main Squeeze- Clermont.

She states, “I have found yet another opportunity to serve the community with the new Teamont Cafe. I employ 25 young adults and have added food to the menu. I have found another way to serve the Lord and community by finding a place where kids can work, enjoy a boba tea, eat and hang out”.

Juliana, her husband Kevin and the sons Pedro, Diogo and daughter Jade have lived in Clermont for about 20 years. She says, “We have always enjoyed the sense of close community the town provides. We love Clermont and since we moved here I have dreamed of having a place where I can serve the community providing excellent service in an environment that is safe and fun”.

Juliana was a cardiac care nurse at South Lake Hospital before becoming a business entrepreneur. She says she has poured her heart into the business….. the Teamont name, logo, top-quality products, hiring, customer service training, and more.  The loving attention she provides to her business is a testimony of the concern and care she has given to her staff, customers and community.
