The Ann Dupee Gem of the Hills Community Service Award recognizes residents or organizations whose contributions extend beyond their professional responsibilities, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the lives of others through their time, efforts, and talents.

On Friday, April 19, Sheri Olsen, the SLCC Board Chair announced that the recipient of the Ann Dupee Gem of the Hills Award is Regina Cruz-Morales.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science in recreation management and Spanish, Regina embarked on a transformative journey with the Peace Corps, spending three years as a youth volunteer in the Dominican Republic and Ecuador.

Her passion for empowering others led her to pursue a career in real estate, where she has not only achieved professional success. As a realtor with Keller Williams Elite Partners III, she founded “The Cruz Team.” She was pivotal in establishing the Women’s Giving Alliance through the Community Foundation of South Lake, where she served as past President and now as Treasurer.

Beyond her professional endeavors, she remains deeply engaged with her community, volunteering her time and expertise to organizations such as the Kiwanis Club of South Lake, Clermont Toastmasters, and South Lake Junior Woman’s Club. Her involvement as an ambassador for the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and service as a Board of Directors further underscores her dedication to fostering meaningful connections and driving positive change.

“Her tireless efforts have made the community a better place for all”, proclaimed Olson.

Regina, CONGRATULATIONS!
