East Ridge Middle School defeated Carver Middle School Wednesday evening 4-0 to win the Lake County Soccer Championship at Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex in Leesburg.

Both teams had outstanding seasons in their regions and came into the game unbeaten, with records of 9 wins and 0 losses.

The win gives East Ridge the school’s first back-to-back championship in soccer.

“We had a strong core group of 8th graders this year and it will be fun to see them play in high school in the fall.  Next year will be a rebuilding year for us, but we are looking forward to the challenge,” said Coach Josh Castleman.

Leading scorers for East Ridge this year were Nick Quaglia (8 goals) and JJ Quirk (7 goals).  The defense was outstanding, giving up only 3 goals all season.
