Up to fifty Lake County students will have the opportunity to attend the largest college fair in Central Florida on September 22nd with Thrive Clermont.  The National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) is a national organization that hosts National College Fairs each fall in major US cities.  Thrive Clermont will be chartering a bus from South Lake County to the Orange County Convention Center to take local students to the NACAC College Fair.  This once-a-year opportunity is open to any high school student and is one of the events in Thrive Clermont’s Adulting Program for teens. Thrive’s Adulting Program for teens comprises workshops and events throughout the year that focus on college and career readiness and financial literacy.

This is the second year Thrive Clermont has taken students to the fair. “We are so pleased to offer local Lake County students a way to attend this unique event which allows them to visit over 150 schools of higher education from across the United States,” says Thrive Clermont founder Sheri Lewin. “Our mission is Empowering Teens to Succeed and we accomplish this by offering students opportunities such as the NACAC College Fair trip.”

The bus departure point will be the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Clermont. The registration fee for the NACAC National College Fair bus trip is $10 and includes transportation, lunch, and admission to the event. It is open to any high school student from any school.  Fee waivers are available for any student in need. More event information and registration can be found at www.thriveclermont.org.
