On Saturday, March 1, the Beta Theta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) hosted the Shamrock Shuffle After Party, an event that combined entertainment, Irish foods, community spirit, and philanthropy. Held at Grace O’Malley’s Public House and Kitchen in Clermont, the gathering aimed to raise funds for scholarships for Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC).
The festivities followed the LSSC Shamrock Shuffle, an annual run/walk event held at the LSSC Clermont Campus. This year, nearly 300 participants entered the event.

The Beta Theta After Party followed, featuring live music from Dublin’s Own David Gilmore, who infused authentic Irish charm into the afternoon. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, drinks, and camaraderie, all while supporting a meaningful cause.

A highlight of the event was the Cornhole Tournament, which saw six skilled competitors vying for the top spot. After a spirited competition, only one emerged victorious, earning well-deserved bragging rights.

Demonstrating strong community support, Grace O’Malley’s Public House and Kitchen generously donated 10% of the day’s earnings to Beta Theta’s scholarship program.

Guests also participated in raffles featuring prize-filled baskets, adding excitement to the celebration. One notable prize, a year’s supply of bundtlets from Nothing Bundt Cakes, was won by Thomas Moore, who expressed his delight at the sweet reward.
The event’s success was bolstered by sponsorship from Buena Vista Publishing and The South Lake Tablet, whose support was instrumental in bringing the community together for this cause.
The Shamrock Shuffle After Party exemplified the power of community collaboration, providing an enjoyable experience while significantly enhancing educational opportunities for local students. Through the dedication of Beta Theta-ESA and the generosity of event supporters, the community showcased its commitment to fostering education and unity.
