Montverde Academy is pleased to announce that Rexy Rolle, MVA alum, President, CEO, and General Counsel at Western Air, the largest privately-owned airline in The Bahamas, will be the keynote speaker at the Academy’s 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. at the Nest.

Ms. Rolle is an Andros native from North Mastic Point. For nine years, she served as Vice President of Operations & General Counsel, spearheading the airline’s notable growth with fleet and route expansion, business development, and pushing key customer-preferred services. As an aviation and corporate attorney, Rexy continues to oversee the legal and regulatory affairs of the airline, representing Western Air to the relevant aviation and government authorities and in commercial negotiations and transactions.

Rexy’s modern, people-first approach to leadership reflects both her personal and professional commitment to her 280-member team and the 350,000+ valued passengers they serve each year. Rexy has been featured in ForbesEssenceConde NasteBET NewsTravel Noire, and many other media outlets around the globe for her work in the airline industry and growing up in the unique aviation “family business” founded by her parents, Capt. Rex Rolle and Shandrice Woodside-Rolle, in 2000.

Rexy received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Ottawa with Joint Honors in political science and communications, a master’s degree from Lynn University in mass media and communications (summa cum laude), and a Juris Doctor in San Diego, California. She is licensed to practice law in California, Washington, D.C., and The Bahamas. Rexy recognizes God as the foundation of her success. Outside of work, she can be found creating music, dancing, traveling, and continuing her philanthropic efforts. 

Mindy Lee Hopman will be the keynote speaker at Montverde Academy’s Baccalaureate held the previous evening on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Nest. Mrs. Hopman serves as the Regional Director of Field Ministry for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Florida, which includes the southern part of Latin America and the Caribbean Islands. Mrs. Hopman is a Bible teacher, author, curriculum specialist, and speaker who holds a master’s degree in religion with an emphasis in leadership and a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction. Mrs. Hopman is the visionary and director of FCA’s [THE] Huddle: for women, an experience designed for female athletes, coaches, and coaches’ spouses. Mr. and Mrs. Hopman first arrived at Montverde Academy (MVA) in 2001. At MVA, she taught classes such as World Religions, Biblical Perspectives, Ethics for the 21st Century, English, ESL, and even second grade. Mr. and Mrs. Hopman have raised two of their own collegiate student-athletes, both of whom attended MVA, and have helped to raise countless other students in the private boarding school environments where they have lived. Mrs. Hopman loves running, reading, paddle boarding, and being on the water with her family in her free time.
