Middle school students with big dreams of making a difference in healthcare will have an exciting opportunity this summer. Lake-Sumter State College is hosting a dynamic Healthcare Exploration Camp designed to spark curiosity and introduce young learners to a variety of medical careers—all in a fun, hands-on environment.

Perfect for students interested in becoming nurses, radiologists, or first responders, this fast-paced camp goes beyond the classroom. Participants will dive into real-world simulations and engaging medical experiments that bring healthcare careers to life.

Two convenient sessions are available:

  • Leesburg Campus: Monday, July 13 through Thursday, July 16, 2026
  • South Lake Campus: Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23, 2026

Each day runs from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm, giving students a focused, high-energy experience without taking up the entire day.

Throughout the week, campers will explore a different medical theme each day, including:

  • College and career pathways in healthcare
  • Nursing and patient care techniques
  • Radiology and medical imaging
  • Emergency services and first response

Rather than simply reading about these fields, students will actively participate—learning by doing and gaining a better understanding of what a future in healthcare could look like.

Spots are limited, and early registration is encouraged for families looking to give their middle schooler a memorable and inspiring summer experience.
