The City of Clermont’s Memorial Day ceremony was held at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center on Monday, May 25, where the community gathered in solemn reflection to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States.

Veterans’ organizations, city staff and volunteers, members of the Lake County Community Choir, and residents from across the community came together to ensure the ceremony was both meaningful and memorable. Throughout the program, attendees were offered inspiring messages centered on remembrance, gratitude, and a continued commitment to honoring those who gave their lives in defense of freedom.

Due to inclement weather, organizers were also forced to make adjustments to a related exhibit. The traveling memorial wall display was taken down after portions sustained wind damage. With additional severe weather forecasted, the decision was made to remove the display for its protection and long-term preservation.

The traveling wall is a smaller version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Replica (The Wall That Heals) in Washington, D.C., honoring the immense sacrifices made during the Vietnam War and ensuring those who served are never forgotten.

The event served as a powerful reminder to never forget those who have perished defending our freedoms.
