Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra is the professional symphony orchestra of Lake County composed of about 50 musicians from all over the world.
December 21 & 22 Concerts: Under the baton of conductor, Michael J. Garasi, the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra will open the programs with “Silent Night” to set the mood with little angels and lights accompanying Aleksandra Vargas in song. This theme is followed with the beautiful and rousing “Nutcracker Suite” by P.I. Tschaikowsky, the musical story of a little girl’s romantic fantasy dream on Christmas Eve. The second part of the program features grand orchestral renderings by the Philadelphia Orchestra’s favorite arranger, Arthur Harris, such as “Adeste Fidelis, A Christmas Medley, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” Two arrangements by the FLSO’s founder, Guy Saint-Clair, are included: “O Come Emmanuel,” and “Aquarium” from Saint-Saens. Aleksandra Vargas will join Marco Romano for “Jesu Bambino” made famous by Pavarotti and Marco Romano will sing the ever-powerful “Nessun Dorma” – translated as – nobody sleeps (which is so true on Christmas Eve) and the evening will close with Leroy Anderson’s evergreen hit, “Sleigh Ride”.
