On April 8th, an extraordinary celestial event captivated skywatchers worldwide as a total solar eclipse unfolded. Unfortunately, Floridians could only see a glimpse of this awe-inspiring spectacle.
Solar eclipses occur when the Moon aligns perfectly between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow that completely obscures the Sun’s disk. This rare occurrence only happens every couple of years, making each event a momentous occasion for astronomers and enthusiasts alike.
Though the eclipse only lasted approximately 4 minutes, proper eye protection was needed to view this cosmic phenomenon safely.
