The highly anticipated Battle for Hope, presented by AdventHealth, brought together the Clermont Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for a spirited game benefiting Find, Feed, Restore. Dubbed “Justice vs. Crime Crushers,” the showdown drew a full house as guests enjoyed dinner and eagerly awaited the friendly but fierce competition.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Clermont Police Department, led by Chief Charles Broadway, took home the coveted Championship Belt, besting the Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Crushers in a game filled with both competitiveness and laughter. Despite their best efforts, the Sheriff’s Crime Crushers were unable to unseat the reigning champions.
More than just a light-hearted event, Battle for Hope serves as a crucial fundraiser for Find, Feed, Restore, an organization that provides essential services to families in need. From housing assistance to educational programs, the funds raised during the event directly impact the lives of those facing homelessness or struggling to find affordable housing.
The 2024 Community Champion Award was presented to the Live Well Foundation of South Lake, recognizing their efforts to improve the well-being of the local community.
Pastor Brian Broadway, Founder and President of Find, Feed, Restore, expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their support and highlighted the organization’s mission. He emphasized the importance of empowering families with children through programs such as Housing First, Affordable Housing, and Homelessness Avoidance.
One of the key initiatives of the organization, Hannah Grace Gardens, offers affordable rental housing to working families, helping them allocate more of their income toward necessities like food, medicine, and education while having a stable home. Residents are also provided with no-cost financial literacy and homeownership courses, further enabling them to achieve long-term stability.
The event closed with a call to action for ongoing support. Every dollar donated to Find, Feed, Restore brings them one step closer to providing safe and stable housing for families in need. To make a donation and help change a life, visit their website at FIND FEED & RESTORE.
