Chuck Seaver, grandson of Oakley Seaver, installed once again as Kiwanis president

The Kiwanis Club of Clermont recently hosted its 98th annual Installation and Awards Dinner, a time-honored tradition recognizing individuals who go above and beyond in service to both the club and the community.

Honored guests at the event included former Kiwanis Florida Governor and keynote speaker Steve LeBlanc, Division 9 Lt. Governor Brian Gruss, and Division 9 Florida Trustee Richard Chapman.

The evening featured several awards to recognize outstanding contributions:

  • Del Brandt for leading in service hours.
  • Chris Boylan for his expert investment guidance.
  • John Greenlee for his role in budget oversight.
  • Marion DeAnnunitis for her commitment to the club’s scholarship program.
  • Cadence Whitehouse for her dedication to the Kiwanis Key Club.
  • Kathy and Rick Scherer for their generous financial contributions.

The Oakley Seaver Award was presented to Dieter Grube

The George F. Hixson Award is a prestigious honor named for Kiwanis International’s first president. This year’s George F. Hixson Award was presented to Jessica Whitehouse.

The banquet also marked the installation of the 2024-2025 Officers:

  • President: Chuck Seaver
  • Vice President: Dieter Grube
  • Secretary: Thomas Battisto
  • Treasurer: Kathy Scherer

The newly elected Board of Directors includes:

  • Marion DeAnnuntis, 1-year term
  • Cecile (Bobbi) Holmes, 2-year term
  • Greg Amann, 2-year term
  • Joan Kyle, 3-year term

The club’s advisors are John Greenlee, Jessica Whitehouse, and Chris Boylan.

The Kiwanis Club of Clermont meets regularly at Green Valley Country Club. Luncheon meetings are held on the first, second, and fourth Tuesday at 11:30 am, with an evening meeting on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 pm.
