Members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce gathered this week to officiate a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the New Beginnings Village Transitional Homes.

New Beginnings of Central Florida Founder and Executive Director Steve Smith and Linda Smith, Co-Founder/Board Member expressed their gratitude to the community, noting that years of prayer, planning, and perseverance have led to this milestone. “Today, we celebrate a vision becoming reality,” they shared, thanking supporters for helping to change lives and shape brighter futures for generations to come.

The newly completed, fully furnished homes are now ready to welcome families seeking stability, hope, and a fresh start.

New Beginnings emphasizes that its mission extends well beyond providing shelter. The organization’s housing initiatives serve as a foundation for transformation—offering stable, affordable homes for individuals and families working to rebuild their lives. Through affordable housing projects, structured case management, and life-enriching programs, residents are empowered to move beyond crisis and toward long-term self-sufficiency.

The opening of the New Beginnings Village Transitional Homes marks an important step forward in supporting families, strengthening neighborhoods, and building a more resilient South Lake community.
