Orlando Health South Lake Hospital is proud to welcome its first baby of the New Year. Baby Koast came into the world at 5:49 am, weighing 7 lbs. 11 oz. and measuring 20.5″ long. Happy Birthday, Koast!
In honor of this special occasion, the Central Florida Diaper Bank donated diapers for a year (roughly 3,600) to the family of the hospital’s first baby. The organization advocates for and encourages healthy growth, nutrition and development for children from newborn to age three, promoting self-sufficiency for at-risk families by identifying their needs and providing the appropriate resources.
Orlando Health South Lake Hospital Center for Women and Babies offers total, trusted care for women, from pre-pregnancy through post-partum care. Board-certified obstetricians delivering at the hospital care for both moms and babies before, during and after delivery. Nurses and lactation consultants also offer the support and resources moms need to be successful. The hospital was also just named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Maternity Care Access Hospitals list, recognizing it as a facility that offers care in a community that might otherwise become a maternity care desert.
