The South Lake High School Eagles are on a postseason tear—and they’re not ready to land just yet.

The Eagles delivered an impressive 3–1 regional semifinal win over Buchholz High School, continuing what has quickly become a thrilling playoff run.

Coming into the tournament as the #8 seed, South Lake has embraced the underdog role with confidence and grit. In the opening round, they stunned a #1 seed, and now they’ve knocked off a #5 seed to punch their ticket to the regional finals. It’s the kind of bracket-busting momentum that makes playoff season unforgettable.

Head Coach Josh Castleman couldn’t hide his excitement after the win.

“I’m so proud of these guys,” Castleman said. “I think they keep winning because they want to keep doing our team dinners every time they win. It’s just cool to see them having fun—and none of us want the season to end.”

That combination of camaraderie and competitive fire is clearly paying off.

The Eagles will now hit the road for the regional finals on Tuesday, where they’ll face the winner of Bartram Trail and Mandarin. With confidence soaring and team chemistry at an all-time high, South Lake is proving that seeding numbers don’t define heart.

One thing is certain: these Eagles are flying high—and they’re hungry for more than just team dinners.
