The Evans Trojans took control of the district, defeating our Eagles 48-17 this past Friday night October 9 at Evans High School. Cody Mason had a monster game for the Eagles with 156 return yards and a touchdown. The Eagles fought hard in the first half only trailing at halftime 13-7. Turnovers and mistakes gave the Trojan high powered offense numerous opportunities to score in the third quarter.

On defense, Eagles Shamar Murray, Sam Amarista, and Joseph Robinson played well.  In his first start, freshman Walker Motley had 12 completions and a touchdown pass to Willie Dixon. Motley also connected with Brian Bedingfield 5 times for 48 yards receiving.
“ We can’t play a team like Evans and make the mistakes we made in the third quarter. Our defense kept us in the game in the first half playing lights out. We had opportunities, but our offense did not convert and turned the ball over- too many times. Defensively in the third quarter, we gave up some quick touchdowns. The third quarter mistakes did us in.”
