Lake County Manager Jeff Cole recently announced his appointment of Elisha Pappacoda to the position of Director for the Office of Communications, beginning Sept. 8.
“Elisha has developed strong working relationships with the media and stakeholder groups throughout Lake County and Central Florida,” said Cole. “She has guided our outreach and external communications, and she has a strong passion for and commitment to Lake County.”
In her new role as Communications Director, Pappacoda will be responsible for the daily oversight of the county’s media relations, social media, graphic design and website development.
Pappacoda started her career with Lake County in January 2014 as the Public Information Officer. Before coming to Lake County, she worked as a television planning producer and a newspaper assignment editor.
She is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association – Lake County Chapter, was awarded the Lake County Community Advocate of the Year in 2017 for her work with Guardian Ad Litem, is the recipient of two Florida Festival & Events Association’s SunSational Awards and holds several certificates related to emergency response from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State Emergency Response Team. She received a bachelor’s in Media and Communications from Fordham University.
