Chanukah Family Fun!

The Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library will host Chanukah Family Fun! at the Cooper Memorial Library on Wednesday, December 5th, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in Room 108 (first-floor community room).

All ages are welcome to join us for a fun-filled afternoon to celebrate Chanukah, the Festival of Lights. Chanukah celebrates the triumph of light over darkness. Celebration customs include eating foods fried in oil, like sufganiyot (deep-fried doughnuts), playing with the dreidel (a spinning top inscribed with Hebrew letters), and the giving of gelt (gifts of money, chocolate coins) to children to inspire and remind adults to make tzedakah (charity) a central part of their lives.

The whole family will enjoy the holiday stories, songs, crafts, games, music, candy, and prizes. Plus, there’ll be plenty of chocolate coins!  Join Rabbi Steve at the library for an afternoon of holiday family fun and come celebrate Chanukah with us!
