Montverde Academy has donated a vehicle to Lake Sumter State College (LSSC). The vehicle, a 20 passenger 2007 Ford E450 transport vehicle, was replaced in MVA’s fleet and the decision was made to donate the vehicle to an organization in the community that would benefit from its use.

“We are happy to donate this vehicle to Lake Sumter State College for use by their athletic programs,” said Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring, Montverde Academy Headmaster. “Montverde Academy is a proud member of the Lake County community and as such, we look for opportunities to support other organizations when possible.”

With campuses is Leesburg, Clermont and Sumterville, LSSC provides an outstanding educational opportunity at an affordable cost to more than 6,000 students in Lake and Sumter Counties. The athletic program currently has more than 65 student-athletes participating in baseball, cross country, softball, and volleyball teams. The program is doing well and continues to grow.

“Our Athletic Department continues to grow with the recent addition of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country to our program this spring,” said Matulia, Lake Sumter State College Athletic Director. “Our athletes will begin competing in the fall of 2019 and will utilize facilities at our South Lake Campus as well as partnering with the National Training Center (NTC). This vehicle will assist that particular program with transportation to events and competition. While it will primarily be used by athletics, we can also use it for travel to a variety of activities and events on all three of our campuses to benefit all of our students, faculty and staff.”
