Today’s State of the County program included the induction of the late Kyleen Jane Fischer (May 14, 1944 – November 6, 2016) into the Women’s Hall of Fame

Kyleen Fischer of Umatilla served her community as a Lake County School Board member for six terms (24 years) including several terms as chairman and vice-chairman. She worked at LifeStream Behavioral Center for 25 years.

Kyleen was a Criminal Justice Addictions Specialist and served as a program supervisor for Life Stream’s TASC and Juvenile TASC programs. She frequently represented LifeStream as a court- and government liaison and was often coordinating substance abuse prevention activities in our community.

Kyleen was the founding member of Be Free Lake, formerly known as the Safe Climate Coalition of Lake County. She was the former chairman of the five-county Circuit Juvenile Justice Committee, and served on the Lake County Children’s Services Council, Golden Triangle YMCA Board, Alee Academy Board, The Ruth House Board, and countless other government and nonprofit boards and committees.
