The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizens program recognizes outstanding young people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities.

 Tomoka Chapter was thrilled after two years of not being able to present awards in person, to, once again, have their Student Awards Program .

The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following qualities: Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism.

The Good Citizen Award was presented to

Jayci Brauman, Montverde Academy*
Brynn Gunelius, East Ridge HS
Gabrielle Smith, Lake Minneola HS
Victoria Yuriza, Lake County Virtual School

*Jayci Brauman was the Chapter winner
and is entered in the Florida State
competition.


 

Outstanding American History Student Award

This is our first year to honor a teacher from Lake County Schools as our Outstanding Teacher of American History. Over the years Mr. Montuori has supported our students in furthering their education as well as sponsoring them to receive honors from the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The Outstanding Teacher of American History Recipient was Vincent Montuori 


 

Dorothea Rudd Lake Sumter State College Scholarship

*Unfortunately Ms. Mathis was unable to attend the program, but sent a letter of thanks to the Chapter. 


Wayne and Fairrell Jacobs College Scholarship
