On Tuesday, April 12, the Clermont Woman’s Club held an open house to celebrate its 95th year of affiliation with the Florida Federation of Woman’s Clubs.  In 1921, a group of Clermont women formed the Clermont Civic Club.  In 1924, they purchased their clubhouse at 655 W. Broome Street and in 1927 the Civic Club was chartered as the current Clermont Woman’s Club and incorporated.

Clermont Woman Club Member Pam Schmitz said, “We want to thank all who attended to wish us well.  Our community leaders as well as district representatives from the Florida Federation of Woman’s Clubs and many of the organizations that we support throughout the year stopped by. We want to give a huge thank you to the wonderful bakers and businesses in our community who donated the delicious goodies that we shared with the attendees.”

The Clermont Woman’s Club is a Federated Woman’s Club chartered in 1927.  It is a non-profit service organization and by fundraising throughout the year, they are able to support international, national and local charities.  They meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 12:30 pm at their clubhouse 655 W. Broome St. & 7th St., Clermont.  For information see www.clermontwomansclub.org.
