Students From Leesburg, South Lake, and Eustis High School Kick Off The School Year With Groundbreaking Celebrations At Three Dedicated Build Sites.

Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter in partnership with Lake County Schools will be holding the Youth Construction Academy Ground Breakings on Leesburg High, South Lake High, and Eustis High School’s new home construction projects.

Leesburg High School will enter its fourth year of the program, followed by South Lake High School’s third year, and Eustis High School’s second year of enrollment into the Youth Construction Academy.

The community is invited to meet the students and sponsors of the projects, and tour the site of a future Habitat home.

• Leesburg High School Groundbreaking is Wednesday, August 24^th at 8:00 am. 
• South Lake High School Groundbreaking is Friday, August 26^th at 8:00 am  
• Eustis High School Groundbreaking is Friday, September 16^th at 8:00 am

Habitat’s Youth Construction Academy, through the partnership with select High Schools, is designed to provide experiential learning and introduce students to the field of construction. Students graduate from the program with access to and opportunities for internships and employment.
