This year, The Neighborhood Center of South Lake celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

No One Should Go Hungry

Every day families have to make the difficult choice of purchasing food for their family or paying for other needs including insurance, rent, utilities, medicine and more. Donation of food and monies helps The Neighborhood Center provide food security for thousands of children, adults, seniors and veterans each month.

For every dollar donated, the Center can provide a family with enough groceries for 10 meals including fresh produce and bread. Your cash donation not only provides food security to more than 1,500 families each month, it provides hope.

The Neighborhood Center of South Lake believes that every child deserves access to nutritious meals, especially during school breaks. Schools are out for the summer and the Center needs support in providing essential pantry items to feed local children.

Food Stamps and Medicaid – Volunteers are on duty to assist with Food Stamps and Medicaid applications. Call the center at 352-429-1200 before you come to find out what documents you must bring.

Computer Training -The Center offers a variety of computer classes at no charge to clients. Call the Center for information on times and dates.

Medical Assistance -You may be qualified to receive limited medical assistance every six months. The Center can provide a letter of charity support which clients exclusively can take to the Community Health Centers to receive free or reduced-cost medical care and refer you to a special clinic.
