The Summer Reading Program, hosted by the Minneola Schoolhouse Library, kicked off its summer series on Friday, June 1, at the Minneola City Hall Gym. This week’s Friday Showtime had some very special guests.  Minneola Fire Chief Jan Otero and his team of firefighters presented a show and tell activity to kids of all ages on the importance of fire safety and what to do in case of a fire.

After the presentation, everyone had an opportunity to see the BIG red fire engine and learn about the equipment used during a fire.

Minneola’s Summer Reading Program continues each Friday through July 13 from 11 am to noon at the Minneola City Hall Gym (800 US 27, Minneola).  The summer program will include fabulous entertainment and; although designed for toddlers through age ten, anyone is welcome to attend.

Thank You Chief Itero and your team of firefighters for taking the time to teach kids to be “Fire Ready Every Day”.
