The Florida sunshine is why people move to Florida. But during the summer months, the heat and sunshine hold major risks, including dehydration and a variety of heat-related illnesses, such as heat stress, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, even heat stroke.

There are a lot of warning signs letting you know its time to get out of the sun: a rapid heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, confusion, fatigue, headache, muscle or abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Ignoring your body’s warning signs could result in heat stroke, which can cause damage to the brain and other vital organs and even death.

What to Do? Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Drink plenty of fluids, which doesn’t include caffeine and alcohol. Wear light clothing and, when possible, cool down by getting out of the sun.

Sun can be fun but it can also be deadly.
