The School Board has approved the following new principal assignments for next school year:

  • Cindy Christidis will be the new principal at Beverly Shores Elementary School. She will fill a vacancy left by Valda Niznik, who is moving to Carver Middle School as Assistant Principal. Ms. Christidis is the current principal at Treadway Elementary. She brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of moving schools with improved academic achievement.
  • Chad Frazier, principal at Eustis Heights Elementary School, will serve as the next principal at Mount Dora Middle School, replacing Jacob Stein. Mr. Frazier began his teaching career at Carver Middle School. After having made significant schoolwide improvements at Eustis Heights, he is excited to return to his middle school roots.
  • Susan Jordan, assistant principal at Eustis Middle School, will be the next principal at Leesburg Elementary School, replacing Heather Gelb, who is moving out of the county to pursue a new professional opportunity. Ms. Jordan began her career in Lake County in 2000 and worked as a math teacher in both middle and high school, a math/science coach and an instructional dean before serving four years as assistant principal at Leesburg Elementary, where she is happy to return as principal.
  • Venessa King, Ed.D., assistant principal at Treadway Elementary, will take over as the school’s principal, filling the vacancy left by Cindy Christidis who is moving to Beverly Shores Elementary. Dr. King has worked in education for 19 years, and 18 of those have been in Lake. She worked more than 15 years at Clermont Elementary as a fourth-grade teacher, math and writing coach, and CRT before moving into administration.
  • Tiffany Scott, Ed.D., has been named principal at Eustis Heights Elementary School, replacing Chad Frazier. Dr. Scott has served Lake County Schools for more than 10 years at both the elementary and middle school level. She has been a teacher and instructional coach and is the current assistant principal at Eustis Heights.
  • Jacob Stein, principal at Mount Dora Middle School, has been named principal at Tavares High School. He will replace Dr. Janice Boyd who is retiring at the end of June. Mr. Stein was chosen as Lake County’s 2019-2020 Principal of the Year.
  • Michelle Work, assistant principal at Sawgrass Bay for the past three years, is moving to the role of principal at Seminole Springs Elementary. Ms. Work has worked in Lake County for 12 years, first as a teacher and instructional coach and later as an instructional dean.
