On Saturday, October 23, the city of Mascotte went pink thanks to Mascotte Police Chief Eric Pederson and his team. The MPD hosted the second, very successful “Cruiser for the Cause” fundraiser in support of the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation and to bring breast cancer awareness to the community

Many of Florida’s law enforcement finest including the Florida Highway Patrol and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department participated in the event. Mascotte Officer Kenia Abreu provided the pink, detailed sparkle.

Be Free Lake participated in the event and accepted unwanted/unused/expired prescription medications and take part in the Nationwide DEA Drug Take-Back Day!

The Big Red Bus was onsite to accept needed blood donations.

Pink shirts were available for purchase and the pink cruiser was on display for pictures.  All proceeds from the event went to the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation.

The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation (GCCF) is a non-profit foundation whose sole mission is to support the citizens of South Lake County as they cope with the emotional and financial aspects of dealing with cancer.  GCCF is not affiliated with any other area or national organization and strives to provide services not available from those groups.  The service area is the South Lake County community including Clermont, Minneola, Howey-in-the-Hills, Montverde, Groveland, Mascotte and the surrounding South Lake County area.
