Show Mother Nature some love on Saturday, April 23 at Clermont’s Earth Day and Lake Clean-Up Festival at Lake Hiawatha Preserve.

The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 on about 2,000 college campuses to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet. Since then, it has grown to an annual environmental protection celebration that is observed in more than 190 countries.

In Clermont, this free celebration of our planet begins with clearing litter and debris from Lake Hiawatha from 7:30 to 10:30 am. Prizes will be awarded for the team that collects the most trash, the weirdest item and the heaviest single item.

The fun continues with multiple interactive Earth Day activities, complete with music, an aerialist’s demonstration and that fun-loving, earth conscious frog, Eco, will make a special appearance. Bring your family and friends and join in the fun.
