Ray Boutique, located at 694 West Montrose Street in historic downtown Clermont, officially opened its doors on November 9. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce officiated at the ribbon cutting and Tropical Storm Nicole provided some background ambiance.
Owner Janine Shoeman is no ordinary business owner but rather a business owner that is also the mother of a sweet little boy named Ray. Ray is a special needs child that has a personality that is as bright as his big smile. Ray is also the inspiration of Shoeman’s passion project to help other expectant and new mothers of special needs children.

Shoeman decided to open the Ray Boutique with a goal of spreading little Ray’s sunshine as far as possible. The business supports Shoeman’s ability to work with new families when they get special needs diagnoses. The business also offers work opportunities to local high school students with special needs in an effort to create independence and job skills for those students.

The boutique carries a wide variety of children’s clothing, blankets, onesies and baby-related needs. Be sure and check out the pictures of typical and special needs children that adorn the walls of the boutique. The pictures are provided by local photo shoot opportunities with the goal of promoting the inclusion of all children.
