The Clermont Police Department recently earned reaccreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) demonstrating the agency’s outstanding professional standards since 2004.
Long recognized as proof that a law enforcement agency maintains the highest professional standards, accreditation remains a highly coveted recognition. Clermont’s police department first earned accreditation in 2004 and has repeated the meticulous process every three years since.
“This reaccreditation is proof that we are committed to going above and beyond what is necessary to protect the residents and visitors of the Clermont community.” Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway said. “Compliance with these standards ensures that our department continues to provide exceptional police services to our community.”
There are numerous benefits in voluntarily taking part in an accreditation process, not only to the agency but to the public it serves. It enhances the community’s understanding of law enforcement policies and practices. It also creates a forum where law enforcement and the community can work together toward common goals of increasing safety and enhancing the quality of life.
“This accomplishment would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of the men and women of the Clermont Police Department, as well as the continued and unwavering support from our community and our elected officials,” Chief Broadway said. “A very special thanks to everyone who contributed to this tough, but extremely rewarding process.”
Mayor Tim Murry, City Manager Brian Bulthuis and City Council Members Michele Pines and Michael Gonzalez joined Chief Broadway and members of the Clermont Police Department to receive the reaccreditation announcement.
