Earth Day and Lake Clean Up – April 21
Volunteers will meet at Lake Hiawatha Preserve at 7:30 am and pick up trash from the nearby lake until 10:30 am. Environmentally-themed activities will be hosted from 10 am – 2 pm. Children can meet Eco, the city’s ecological champion.
Mayor Invites Public to Coffee and Conversation – April 21
Mayor Gail Ash invites the public to join her from 10 am – 11 am at the Urban Attic, 639 8th St., for coffee and a chance to chat with the Mayor. There’s no agenda – just a chance to hear the latest news about the city, express opinions or ask questions. The monthly gathering is free and open to the public.
Hit Bands from 1970s Set to Perform at the Clermont Performing Arts Center – April 21
Original band members from Firefall and Orleans will perform their big hits from 1976 at the Clermont Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 7:30 pm. Firefall’s hits, “You Are the Woman” and “Goodbye I Love You” helped earn them three gold and two platinum albums with 11 chart-topping singles. Orleans is best known for iconic hits, such as “Still the One” and “Dance with Me.” Original members include co-founder John Hall, who had been on leave while he served as a U.S. congressman.
