The community is invited to spend an afternoon exploring some of Florida’s most pressing environmental challenges through film, education, and community discussion at a special environmental film showcase hosted at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center Black Box Theater, located at 3700 S. Highway 27 in Clermont.
For a suggested donation of $15, attendees will enjoy four compelling films that examine the state’s waterways, wildlife, and conservation efforts. Check-in begins at 11:45 am, with screenings starting promptly at noon. A panel discussion featuring conservation experts and local leaders will begin at 3:00 pm.
The featured films include The Water State – A Project Paradise Film, Ocklawaha: Tales My Father Told – A Symphonic Poem by John D. Gottsch, Gopher Games – The Fight to Save the Heart of Florida, and Water’s Journey: The Hidden Rivers of Florida. Together, these films offer a powerful look at the natural resources that define Florida and the environmental issues that continue to shape its future.
Following the screenings, guests will have the opportunity to engage directly with conservation professionals and community leaders during an interactive panel discussion. The conversation will explore many of the challenges highlighted in the films and their impact on local communities, while providing attendees with an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about ongoing conservation efforts.
The event aims to foster awareness, inspire dialogue, and encourage community involvement in protecting Florida’s unique ecosystems. Attendees are encouraged to bring their curiosity and questions as they join fellow residents in a meaningful discussion about the future of the state’s natural resources.
Refreshments will be served during intermission, and admission includes access to all film screenings and the panel discussion.
In keeping with the event’s environmental mission, organizers encourage guests to bring a reusable water bottle and help reduce waste while enjoying an afternoon dedicated to Florida’s waters, wildlife, and wild places.
