Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, wants to alert voters in Lake County that they may be receiving voter registration applications from two sources NOT affiliated with his office.

The Center for Voter Information and the Voter Participation Center are the two sources. They notified our office that the mailings could be hitting voters’ mailboxes as early as this weekend. These two sources are mailing voter registration applications to people, many of whom are already registered to vote. Recipients are encouraged to contact the group sending the information to them if they have questions concerning the mailing itself, or wish to be removed from their mailing list.

“We want our office to be the primary resource of information for voters; often these organizations do not have the most up-to-date data,” commented Supervisor Hays.

Voters are also encouraged to verify the status of their registration by visiting the website of the Lake County Supervisor of Elections, www.lakevotes.com. They may also choose to put this link, https://lakevotes.com/voting/verify, into their search engine, then go to the Verify Voter Information link near the top of the page, fill in the required information and their status will appear on the screen.

“If voters have further questions regarding their record, we welcome them to call our office at 352.343.9734,” Hays further relayed.
