Clermont police officers responded to the area of CR455 and SR 50 at approximately 10 pm last night July 3, 2021, in reference to a male subject that was injured in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male unresponsive lying on the ground, covered in blood near the gas pumps of Circle K located at 16431 SR 50 in the City of Clermont. The male appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound. Officers along with Clermont Fire and Lake EMS performed life-saving measures but unfortunately, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Upon further investigation, officers were able to locate the other parties involved. All parties are cooperating with the investigation.
The Clermont Police Department is still in the early stages of this investigation and will release more information as it becomes available.
The names of the involved parties are not being released at this time due to pending next of kin notification and still being an active investigation.
There do not appear to be any outstanding individuals involved.
