Long and Scott Farms, located at 26216 County Road 448-A, Mount Dora (Lake Gem) celebrate a new addition to their existing business that has been in place since 1963. This family-owned business specializes in sod farming and fresh produce as well as many on-site amenities that include a seasonal corn maze, a zip line for children, fishing, a super slide, gem mining and the latest addition, a fresh produce market, and a breakfast/ lunch cafe.

The cafe offers an array of breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, a host of lunchtime sandwiches and their specialty, a delicious Zellwood sweet corn chowder. The cafe decor is highlighted with rustic knickknacks from yesteryear, including two retrofitted stools that were crafted from antique farm tractor seats.
Wednesdays are a special day at the cafe with healthy cooking and recipe demonstrations presented by the University of Florida’s Agriculture Extension Services. Participants enjoy lessons in healthy cooking as well as the benefits of fresh produce.

Stroll thru the well-stocked market that adjoins the cafe and enjoy a wide selection of jams, preserves, area memorabilia, local dairy products and fresh produce grown on the Long and Scott farm. Seasonal vegetable farming has a long history in the Long and Scott Farm business that dates back to its 1963 beginning. A business that was started by family and continues with family as new chapters unfold for future generations.

Members of the South Lale Chamber of Commerce were at the farm to celebrate the farm’s new business additions and officiate at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
