The Voice of Industry Weekend
Featuring the Female Voice Awards Gala and She’s Possible
The Voice of Industry Weekend is not a conference built around selling, pitching, or pretending everything is fine.
It is a space for women to pause, listen, speak honestly, and sit with others who understand the weight of leadership, growth, and responsibility, while building connections and helping each other move one step forward. This weekend is designed for women, and men are welcome to attend as allies and supportive guests.
This weekend brings together women from different industries and stages of life for live talks, shared meals, guided problem-solving, and an evening honoring women whose voices deserve to be heard.
If you’re tired of surface-level events and want something that feels grounded, thoughtful, and human, this weekend was created for you.
Over three days, we gather for:
• Live, short talks shared by women speaking about real challenges they are facing.
• Guided conversations designed to help you think through what you’re carrying right now
• A collaborative problem-solving morning focused on real situations, not theory
• The Female Voice Awards Gala, where women are recognized in person for their work, impact, and leadership
This weekend is about being present, not performing.
About listening as much as speaking.
About leaving with clarity, not overwhelm.
What Makes This Weekend Different
• Speakers are not selling from the stage
• Stories are real, not polished
• The room is intentionally kept human-sized
• Connection matters more than visibility
• Awards are presented in person, with meaning and care
This is a space for women who want depth, honesty, and room to breathe.
Who This Is For
This weekend may be right for you if:
• You are a founder, leader, professional, or creative woman
• You feel stretched, uncertain, or at a turning point
• You want thoughtful conversations, not noise
• You value meaningful recognition and shared experience
• You want to be in a room where you don’t have to explain yourself
• Women are at the center of this weekend, and allies are welcome.
You do not need to be “figured out” to attend. You just need to be open to being present.

This is not about motivation.
It is about honesty, support, and presence.
If you feel yourself slowing down as you read this, that’s your sign.
We would love to welcome you to the room.

Brechner Speaker Series: Tracing the Nightingale Family and the Legacies of American Democracy
Join Brandon Nightingale as he traces the intertwined histories of the Nightingale family – from enslaved ancestors along the Georgia coast to later generations who navigated Jim Crow, migration, and the continuing struggle for Black freedom.
Drawing on archival research, oral histories, and site-based study, Nightingale explores how one family’s story intersects with larger questions about slavery, capitalism, and the meaning of belonging in the United States. He will also reflect on what it means to research one’s own ancestors, how that work can deepen our understanding of democracy and historical repair, and the roles museums, libraries, and communities play in supporting similar work.
About Our Speaker
Brandon Nightingale is senior project manager for the Black Press Archives Digitization Project at the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University, where he is a doctoral student in history. He earned a bachelor’s in history and a master’s in public history at the University of Central Florida, as well as a master’s in information science at Florida State University, and has served as assistant archivist at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach. His research and public history practice focus on the Black press, archives, and the long afterlives of slavery in family stories and local communities. He regularly speaks with museums, churches, and community groups about memory, media, and the work of repair.
About the Brechner Series
The History Center’s Brechner Speaker Series honors the late Joseph L. Brechner, a longtime journalist, community leader, and television pioneer who is also remembered as one of Orlando’s first clear public voices for civil rights. The son of Eastern European immigrants, Brechner believed deeply in American democracy and citizens’ responsibilities to be informed and participate. The museum’s research center, home to the archival collection of the Historical Society of Central Florida, also bears Brechner’s name.
Register by Saturday, February 7, to receive free admission to the museum with registration
