Friday, April 26 – The Florida Angler in downtown Clermont hosted Coffee & Conversations with Lake County Commissioner Sean Parks, Sheriff Peyton Grinnell, and School Board Member Marc Dodd.

The informal, on-going meetings provided an opportunity for South Lake County residents to speak one-on-one with city/county representatives.

The Florida Angler owner-founders Jonathan Acosta and Ash Condon provided the Florida Angler, located at 786 Montrose Street in downtown Clermont, for this public outreach meeting. The historic building was completely renovated to accommodate the new business.  “It’s exciting to have County leadership invite us to host an event like this,” Ash stated.  “We are glad to help connect County representatives with our community.  Gaining exposure to grow our business doesn’t hurt either.”

The meeting had a solid turn out and lively conversations were shared one-on-one and in small informal groups.  Issues like traffic, charter schools, student density, environmental preservation, outdoor activity, and local business issues were discussed during the 2 hour get together.

“Fishing is an incredibly fun sport, and something anyone can do with the right gear and know how”, notes the owners. “Of course, our business is moving products, but providing amazing service and experiences is what makes Florida Anglers unique”.
