This Saturday, the Clermont Police Department was the site of a Read to Sydney / Kiwanis Club of Clermont Pop-Up Library event. Boys and Girls came to visit, read, and play with Toby the therapy dog and receive free books, crafts and goodies.

Children were also able to check out the awesome police cars parked in front of the Police Department.

Read to Sydney in a non-profit organization helping children read one “tail” at a time. Programs include school visits to give children the chance to interact with Toby the therapy dog while listening to a story; library visits to provide opportunities for a child to read to Toby; and the newest addition, Sydney’s bookmobile.

The next Pop-Up Library will take place on October 16, at Headquarter Madza, 17500 SR 50, Clermont from 10 am – 12 pm.

For every $100.00 Read to Sydney raises, the organization is able to donate 70 books to local schools, underprivileged youths, young adults, and young adults with both physical and emotional disabilities in the communities served.
