The Mascotte Police Department (MPD), held its 3rd Annual “Cruiser for the Cause” Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraising Event on Saturday, October 8th. The purpose of the event was to bring breast cancer awareness and support to the community 

During the event and throughout the month, the Mascotte Police Department will sell their 2022 MPD “Warrior” Breast Cancer Awareness shirts. For the 2020 campaign, MPD  donated $2,500, almost doubling that amount in 2021 of $4,758. “I am confident that this year we will surpass those numbers!”, said Mascotte Police Officer Kenia Abreu.

Events Highlights

Many local businesses and organizations participated in the event and all proceeds raised will benefit the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation.

The Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club rumbled into the Mascotte Police Department parking lot in full force. The Punishers is a brotherhood of current Law Enforcement, retired Law Enforcement, Firefighters, active EMS personnel, active and retired Military and a select few like-minded individuals. Their common bond is to meet as a group and ride motorcycles. 

The non-profit organization has grown since its beginning in New York on July 4, 1999, to an international organization, remaining united in its support of all public safety officers and their families.  They are actively involved in numerous charitable causes and fundraising efforts, particularly those which benefit police officers, firefighters, and their children.  

The Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club gave a framed needlepoint piece “Home of the Free” to Mascotte Chief of Police Eric Pederson in an effort to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
