Lilly’s on the Lake – On Friday, September 30th, Lilly’s on the Lake, located at 846 W. Osceola St., Clermont, closed its doors stating,

“Due to the difficult situation that we are facing with Hurrican IAN, we are very sorry to announce that Lilly’s on the Lake will be temporarily closed and out of service for the following weeks, until further notice. This will be effective today, Friday, September 30th We appreciate all our guests and we hope to give updates anytime soon. Please be attentive to our social media sites, for any updates and news We wish you all the best and Warm Regards”.  

The South Lake Tablet has attempted to contact the owners of Lilly’s but phone service has been disconnected and there isn’t anyone in the building. Could this be the end of Lilly’s as we know it?  More to come.

    • CuraLeaf Dispensary –  After years of neglect, the building on the corner of Hook Street and Hwy 27 is getting a facelift and will be ready to open later this year as a CuraLeaf Dispensary. Curaleaf is a leading medical and recreational marijuana dispensary in the United States. 
    • Staybridge Suites: Plans for construction, located by Chick-Fil-A, on Hwy 27 and Hammock Ridge Road, has been proposed and under consideration by the City of Clermont (follow the Staybridge Suites link indicated above for more information)
    • Chipotle Mexican Grill has submitted a site plan to the City of Minneola to build on the last remaining parcel in front of Publix at the corner of Hancock and Citrus Grove Road. 
    •  Nothing Bundt Cake franchise will open in Clermont, at 1670 E. Highway 50, Suite B (by Publix/Citrus Tower Blvd). The popular franchise is known for handcrafted bundt cakes made with real butter, eggs and cream cheese. 
    • Crumbl Cookes, offering specialty flavored cookies, will be opening next to KeKe’s Breakfast Cafe, on South Hwy 27, Clermont.
    •  Sonic Drive-in  A new structure still pending a building permit, will be located on the corner of Hwy 27 and Citrus Tower Blvd. Sonic Drive-In provides a unique dining experience that allows patrons to park in designated areas and order from the outdoor menu boards, with food delivery services to their vehicles.
    • Costco is coming to Clermont.- It will be built on a 19-acre parcel of the 140-acre parcel of open land on State Route 50, northeast of Magnolia Pointe Boulevard. An exact opening date has not been set but it will be sometime in 2023. 
    • Brooks Rehab – The 5,000-sq. ft facility is located at 2616 US-27, Clermont. Construction underway.  Expected to open in September. 
    •  Encompass Health Is Headed To Clermont – Coming Soon – The 32+ acre, 100-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility, located south of State Road 50, 1⁄4 mile east of the SR 50 and Hancock Road intersection, is under construction and is scheduled to open the first quarter of 2023.

      The project will consist of one single-story building, associated parking, and single shared access point off SR 50. The rehabilitation building will be constructed in three phases, with a total approximate square footage of 83,500 square feet, when completed. The first phase will consist of 50-beds, the second phase will be 20-beds, and the third phase will be 30-beds. The Rehabilitation Center will be hiring for a variety of roles in both clinical and non-clinical fields.

    • Oct 22 at 8 am. Sounds Of Soul  – “A tribute to Motown and beyond” at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. Get ready to relive the hits of Motown.

    • Oct. 22 – 23 – SuntoberFest from 12 pm to 10 pm. Suncreek Brewery’s take on Oktoberfest where they release their Deutschland Perle Seasonal. This is a full-street event with live music and special German-inspired food. Vendor inquiries are welcome. Contact the brewery at 407-850-8810 for more details.
